 WHERE TO FIND US

  • Indoor Facilities - During the winter months we rent the village hall at Gweek for 5 target sessions per week (see shooting times).  However you may still find some of our hardy members shooting at the club ground.  To find the village hall in Gweek follow the signs to the National Seal Sanctuary and the hall is in the same car park.
  • Outdoor Facilities - We are lucky enough to have exclusive access to our own field 4 miles from Helston, near the village of Garras.  We have a purpose built club-house with running water and toilet facilities, meaning that shooting facilities are available to members 365 days a year.

From Helston take A3083 towards The Lizard.  Go past RNAS Culdrose and turn left at the next roundabout onto the B293 towards St Keverne.  Bear right at the next roundabout continuing towards St Keverne.  Go through Garras village and the club ground is on the right as you leave the village.

    CLUB NEWSLETTERS

Our club newsletters are sent to all members on a regular basis and are published below.

    CLUB HISTORY

The club originally started in 1990 and was based at the Trelowarren Estate.  In 1996, due to changes in the Estate, the club had to find new grounds and became the Lizard Peninsula Bowmen.

In 2002 the club finished construction of a new pavilion at our grounds near Garras. The pavilion was built through the hard work of our club members and opened by Peter Smith. It adds improved facilities including; toilets, secure storage and improved disabled access.

The club members are relaxed and friendly, but still all take their archery seriously, the members have several social evenings a year such as the Christmas meal.

Several of are members regularly attend indoor and outdoor tournaments, the club encourages competition with all members having the option to take part in regular postal leagues entered by the club. Many of our members however prefer to come and enjoy the satisfying love of shooting.
